German Psychic Claims to Provide Coordinates for Madeleine McCann’s Remains

The disappearance of Madeleine McCann remains one of the most high-profile missing persons cases in history, and a new development involving a German psychic has drawn the attention of investigators. Michael Schneider, a 50-year-old psychic who previously worked as a television journalist, has provided German authorities with what he claims are the precise coordinates of the young girl’s remains.

According to reports, Schneider believes that Madeleine, who vanished from a Portuguese resort at the age of three in 2007, is deceased and buried in a wooded area located only six miles from the site of her disappearance. He has submitted these details to the German Federal Criminal Police Office, commonly known as the BKA. Senior Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters has acknowledged that while such leads are often unconventional, his team has utilized similar informational sources in past investigations.

Schneider has gained notoriety for his claims of successful involvement in other high-profile cases. Earlier this year, he was credited with helping locate a missing woman in Germany and discovering the bodies of Peter Neumayr and Laura Percelli, an Italian couple who had been murdered. Describing his methodology, Schneider states that he examines photographs of the missing individuals and poses questions regarding their status as living or deceased. He then utilizes atlases and digital tools like Google Maps to attempt to pinpoint their locations.

The psychic denies seeking any financial reward for his involvement, emphasizing that he is aware of the gravity of his claims and the impact they have on the families involved. He insists that he does not share such information lightly.

The involvement of psychics in the McCann case is not new. Since the girl’s disappearance in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007, her parents have received and considered numerous tips from individuals claiming supernatural insight. During a 2012 police investigation, officials reviewed a vast number of previously ignored psychic leads, though most were ultimately dismissed as unproductive.

Despite the passing of over a decade, the search for the truth continues. While the Portuguese authorities officially closed their investigation in 2008, Scotland Yard launched Operation Grange in 2011, which remains active. Currently, the primary focus of the official investigation centers on a 44-year-old German suspect, Christian Bruckner, who police believe is responsible for the abduction and murder of the young girl. For the parents of Madeleine McCann, who have spent years navigating public speculation and false leads, the latest claims serve as an additional, painful reminder of the tragedy that has remained unresolved since that night in Portugal.
