BI spokesperson, Dana Sandoval, clarified that Mr. Duterte was not arrested but is undergoing standard procedures for all arriving passengers, especially after trips originating from specific locations.
“Contrary to claims of denying medical attention, Mr. Duterte has been attended to by medical personnel from the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) upon arrival as per protocol. Initial assessment indicated no immediate medical emergency,” Sandoval stated in a press conference held at NAIA. She further added, “We are ensuring his well-being while standard procedures are being completed. Claims of confinement and denial of healthcare are inaccurate and misleading.”

He was seen leaving NAIA Terminal 3 accompanied by his daughter Kitty and a medical team.
