Palito’s story is one of loyalty met with betrayal. When we found him, he was weak and alone, his body marked by two gunshot wounds. Despite his pain, his eyes searched for something—or someone.

A neighbor who had watched over him shared the devastating truth: Palito’s owner had abandoned him, unwilling to let him follow any longer. And as if rejection wasn’t enough, he had been left with bullets still lodged in his body.

We acted quickly, carefully transporting Palito to the hospital. The medical team worked urgently to remove the bullets and treat his wounds.
