The itching started as something that seemed ordinary. Red patches were spreading over his skin, and the first thought was an allergy. It could have been a new laundry detergent, a food reaction, or another harmless irritation. Antihistamines and soothing creams were tried, but nothing brought real relief. Instead, the discomfort intensified until it was keeping him awake at night. What had seemed like a simple rash began to feel impossible to ignore.

A visit to the doctor was meant to bring quick reassurance and a clear treatment plan. But during the examination, the mood in the room changed. The doctor became noticeably more serious and ordered blood tests and scans. Nurses moved quickly, and quiet conversations replaced the casual confidence that had been there at the beginning. Waiting for answers was frightening, because it was suddenly clear that this might be more than a skin problem.

Days later, the diagnosis arrived: it was not an allergy, but cancer. The word was devastating. The itching that had once seemed like a minor irritation was now tied to something far more serious, and life quickly became centered on appointments, hospital visits, treatments, and uncertainty. Chemotherapy followed. His strength faded with each session, yet he endured it without complaint.

Looking back, the early signs became painful to remember. Every missed clue raised the same question: could the illness have been found sooner if answers had been demanded faster? Now even small aches and itches can feel alarming, because the diagnosis changed the way every physical symptom is understood.

Still, fear is not the only thing left. There is also determination: to keep fighting, to keep hoping, and to value every moment together. Cancer came into their lives without warning, but it will not be allowed to define them without a fight.
