Drain Survivor Vena: A Fight for Hope
On November 17, 2022, a heart-wrenching discovery was made. Vena, a distressed animal, was found huddled in a sewage drain. How she ended up there remains a mystery, but her cries alerted rescuers to her presence.
It was pitch black inside, and locating her proved difficult. My heart ached as we finally managed to lift her out.
She was covered in dirt, trembling uncontrollably, and struggling to move due to a severely injured front leg. Despite her weakened state, Vena showed signs of resilience by being able to eat on her own.
It may have been the first meal she had in a long while. As we gently lifted her from the darkness into daylight, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of hope amidst the dire circumstances.
Vena’s spirit, though tested, remained unbroken. Her perseverance demonstrated the incredible resilience animals possess when facing adversity. We recognized that her journey to recovery would be a long and challenging one. However, with the dedication and support of our team, we were committed to giving Vena the second chance she rightly deserved.
