Dog Rescued After 2 Years Chained Outside

For two long years, a dog named Beibei endured harsh conditions, chained outside with no shelter and only the bare ground to rest on. She had no access to clean water, subsisting on rain and morning dew, and her only food consisted of scraps and moldy leftovers discarded nearby, attracting swarms of flies. Her owner, frequently absent for work, seldom checked on her, leaving Beibei neglected and gradually wasting away. When rescuers discovered her, she weighed a mere two kilograms, a skeletal frame of skin and bones, a heartbreaking sight.

Despite her ordeal, Beibei’s spirit ignited with joy at the approach of anyone. Even though the rescuers were strangers, she wagged her tail enthusiastically and sought closeness, yearning for affection and attention, something conspicuously absent from her life. Upon the rescuers’ request to take her, her owner readily agreed.

Beibei cast a final glance back at her home, perhaps reflecting on the only existence she had ever known, before quietly accompanying them. She was transported to a veterinary hospital for comprehensive examination and treatment. Nurses provided her with a much-needed bath and even shaved her matted fur.

Throughout this process, Beibei remained gentle and composed. Her sweet disposition was immediately evident; unaccustomed to kindness, she embraced it wholeheartedly. Now, three months into her recovery, Beibei is regaining her strength.

Her coat is regrowing, and she has gained a healthy amount of weight. Most importantly, she is finally experiencing the profound feeling of being loved.
