The Delivery Guy’s Terrifying Warning: “Someone Else Is Inside Your House”

THE DELIVERY GUY KEPT RINGING THE DOORBELL AFTER I SIGNED

I pressed the doorbell button again, but the light on the monitor was still red.

The delivery guy, Kevin, was still standing there, almost leaning on the bell, face pale under the porch light. His eyes darted nervously. He wasn’t even holding a package anymore, just clutching his clip board tight.

He just kept staring past me, into the deep shadows of the hallway. I could hear the faint, steady hum of the refrigerator from the kitchen, a stark contrast to the frantic beat of my own heart. Then he whispered, “Someone else… they just walked right past me. In your house.”

My blood ran cold. The front door had been triple-locked, I was sure of it. My partner was away on a business trip, and I was absolutely, terrifyingly alone. The sudden, sharp chill from the draft coming through the still-open door felt like a ghostly hand reaching for my throat.

He suddenly pointed, eyes wide with pure terror, at something moving in the darkness just past my shoulder, a low, choked gasp escaping his lips.

From the shadows of the living room, a voice I hadn’t heard in years called my name.

👇 Full story continued in the comments…I spun around, heart hammering against my ribs. The living room, normally bathed in the warm glow of the lamp, was now a cavern of impenetrable blackness. A figure began to materialize from the shadows, its form indistinct, shimmering like heat haze. It moved with a languid grace that was unsettlingly familiar, like a dream you can’t quite grasp.

“Sarah?” the voice croaked, raspy and weak, yet undeniably that of my deceased mother. “Help me, Sarah.”

Terror, a cold, suffocating blanket, threatened to consume me. My rational mind screamed that this was impossible, a trick of the light, a hallucination. Yet, the chillingly familiar timbre of her voice, the way it seemed to claw at my very soul, was undeniable.

Kevin, frozen beside me, seemed to find his voice. “We have to go! Now!” He grabbed my arm, pulling me towards the door.

But I couldn’t move. My legs were rooted to the spot. The figure was drawing closer, its form becoming clearer. It was wearing the floral dress my mother had worn the day she passed. Her face, though gaunt and pale, held the unmistakable curve of her smile.

“Don’t be afraid,” the apparition said, her voice still fragile, barely a whisper. “I just need… I just need to rest.”

Suddenly, Kevin yanked me forward, forcing me through the open doorway. He slammed the door shut, fumbling with the locks, his hands shaking so violently he could barely get them closed.

“Don’t look back!” he gasped, his face a mask of horror. “We have to get out of here!”

He dragged me down the porch steps and across the lawn, pulling me towards his delivery van. The red light on the monitor above the door pulsed menacingly. I could hear the frantic scratching coming from the other side, the desperate, desperate pleas.

He started the van and we sped off, never looking back.

The next day, I went back to the house, the delivery driver nowhere to be found. I called the police, but they found nothing. No signs of a break-in, no evidence of any paranormal activity. Just my house, my home, silent and empty, save for the echoing, whispered memory of a voice I thought I’d never hear again. It was then I knew, some things were beyond understanding, beyond explanation, beyond the realm of the living. The front door was locked and the house would be quiet again. At least until I came back.
