Jessica’s Warning: A Creepy Premonition

🔴 JESSICA’S VOICE MESSAGE SAID: “HE KNOWS ABOUT THE MONEY, HE’S COMING”

I didn’t even recognize my own shaking hands as I unlocked the apartment door. The air felt thick, like summer before a storm.

My little brother, Leo, was supposed to be here. Said he needed a place to crash after his band’s gig. The silence was deafening; the only sound was the faint hum of the refrigerator. He never turns off music.

Then I saw the note, scrawled on a ripped piece of paper on the coffee table: “Gone to get milk. Back soon.” Leo hates milk. That doesn’t make sense. Jess’s message keeps echoing in my brain.

Suddenly, the lights flickered, plunging the room into near darkness. I heard a floorboard creak upstairs. My skin prickled with goosebumps. Who is upstairs?

My heart hammered against my ribs. Ignoring the primal urge to flee, I grabbed the heavy, iron poker leaning against the fireplace – a relic from a previous tenant. Gripping it tight, I crept towards the stairs, each step deliberate and agonizing. The creaking intensified with my ascent.

The upstairs hallway was bathed in the dim, eerie glow of the flickering lights. I peered into the first room – Leo’s bedroom. Empty. I moved to the next, the guest room. Empty. Then, the master bedroom.

The door was ajar, revealing a sliver of the room’s interior. I could make out a figure silhouetted against the window. Cautiously, I pushed the door open wider, my grip tightening on the poker.

The figure turned. It was… Leo.

But something was wrong. His eyes were wide, vacant, and his usually messy hair was slicked back from his forehead. A strange smile stretched across his face. And he wasn’t alone. Standing behind him, almost merging with the shadows, was a man I’d never seen before. Tall, gaunt, with eyes that glinted like a predator’s.

“He’s here,” Leo whispered, his voice not his own, a chilling monotone.

The man stepped forward, and in that moment, the flickering lights died, plunging the room into complete darkness. A hand clamped down on my shoulder, and a voice, cold and gravelly, whispered in my ear, “He knows where it is.”

Panic seized me. I swung wildly with the poker, connecting with something solid. A grunt, then the sound of a body hitting the floor. I stumbled backward, desperate to escape, but Leo blocked my path, his eyes still devoid of life.

I shoved past him, racing down the stairs, screaming for help that would never come. I slammed the front door behind me, ran as fast as my legs could carry me, desperate to escape, to survive.

The next morning, the apartment was empty. The poker lay on the floor upstairs. The note on the coffee table was gone. I never saw Leo again, nor did I ever learn who was after the money, nor the note. Only Jess’s warning, and the chilling echoes of a nightmare.
