Dug Hayes, a grandpa from Gladstone, Oregon, discovered the ideal present for his 10 grandchildren: a school bus.
South of Portland is the city where the grandchildren reside, and they are all close to one another.
When Dug’s wife Amy learned that the grandchildren’s school in the neighborhood didn’t have its own transportation, she realized that Dug wanted to spend more time with them.
The grandchildren’s neighborhood and the school were each a half-hour drive apart.
Dug loved the idea when Amy offered to have her husband take the kids to school every morning. Finding the proper bus, though, was a challenge.
Dug wanted to purchase a small, roomy vehicle that was also reasonably priced, in good shape, and available.
After some looking, Dug discovered the ideal minibus.
The vehicle was painted to resemble a genuine school bus in a nearby auto repair shop, and the name “Dedushkin Express” was affixed to the side.
The entire family gathered for a joyful cookout at Dug’s house the day the bus was delivered.
Like their parents, the kids were thrilled with the present. They all posed for photos in front of the bus.
Dug’s grandkids are eagerly anticipating the conclusion of the holidays. They will be able to ride a special bus that is driven by their adored grandfather to school.
This present is ideal since it not only fulfills a basic need but also enables Dug to spend more time with his grandchildren.
