Prince William and Kate Middleton have “plans for secret home” vital to cancer recovery

Prince William and Kate Middleton have plenty on their minds at the moment, and yet they’re ready to hatch surprise plans to transform a secret home into a sanctuary that might aid the Princess of Wales in her recovery process.

Last month Kate shocked the world when she bravely announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer, merely two months after King Charles had made the same admission. Kate’s mysterious absence from the spotlight following a planned abdominal procedure in January generated all manner of distasteful conjecture and speculation, and her staunchest critics were forced to shamefully eat their words when the true reason behind her absence was revealed.

As per reports, the future queen is now undergoing preventative chemotherapy, while Prince William does all he can to support her in her hour of need.

The Daily Mirror say that the couple are currently dividing their time between their four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage home in Windsor and Anmer Hall, a large property located on the royal estate of Sandringham.

Adelaide Cottage remains their primary residence – it’s close to the school Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis attend – but William and Kate are pondering revamping a redbrick annexe close to the abode to help with Kate’s recovery.

A source revealed to OK! Magazine: “They [William and Kate] absolutely adore Adelaide Cottage, but it just about fits the entire family, whereas Anmer Hall is much larger with extensive grounds.

“Adelaide Cottage is being used as a term time property while the children are at school nearby and Anmer Hall is for long weekends and holidays.”

As stands the annexe is said to be uninhabitable, but plans are simmering away in the background with a view to bringing it up to royal standards so that the Waleses’ can have more room.

“Nobody knows that there is quite a spacious red-brick annexe building that’s not being used next door to Adelaide Cottage,” the aforementioned source continued.

“It’s currently inhabitable and needs extensive renovation works if it were to be used. Discussions have been ongoing for a while about using the property as part of the overall cottage grounds, but it’s just about finding the right time to kick the project off.”

According to the Daily Mirror, the need for more space isn’t simply a question of luxury, but rather deemed necessary for Kate’s continued recovery in her cancer fight. Put plainly, the royals believe the new building would provide her with a serene environment to help with her treatment demands.

As for who will foot the bill for any work that is done on the property in question moving forward, sources say William and Kate are mindful of past public backlash regarding the Royal Family’s spending habits.

“William is very conscious of the public scrutiny over the Royal Family’s spending habits, so he is looking at the best way to cover any renovation costs,” a source revealed.

“It’s a project that’s very much been put on the back burner for now due to the family’s unfortunate position, but it will be looked at again when the time is right.”
