Infant Dies After Fatal Fall from Sleeping Father’s Arms in Anapolis
A tragic incident in Anapolis, located 55 kilometers from Goiania, has resulted in the untimely death of a two-month-old infant. The tragedy occurred after the baby fell from the arms of his father, who had reportedly fallen asleep while holding the child.
The incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning in the Jardim das Américas 2ª Etapa neighborhood. According to the father’s account provided to local authorities, he was holding his son when he succumbed to exhaustion and drifted off to sleep. During this time, the infant slipped from his arms and suffered a fatal fall.
Paramedics from the Mobile Emergency Care Service were dispatched to the scene, but upon their arrival, they were only able to confirm that the child had passed away. Following the discovery, the Military Police were notified by the Forensic Medical Institute to initiate an official report.
The Civil Police have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Police Chief Kenia Segantini, who is leading the inquiry, has yet to provide an official statement regarding the specific lines of investigation. Authorities are currently in the process of interviewing family members and witnesses to determine the full sequence of events and to confirm whether the occurrence was a domestic accident or if other contributing factors were involved.
