Chained dog freed from years of hell
Some pets are cherished as family, showered with affection and attention. Others, like Lieber, endure a life of misery, abandoned by those responsible for their well-being. For four long years, Lieber was confined to life as a chained guard dog in an abandoned house in Caguas, Venezuela. Her entire existence was restricted to the small area at the top of a staircase.
The chain around her neck was so tight that she couldn’t even lie down properly. She lacked food, water, and any form of kindness. The heavy chain, corroded by years of neglect, had deeply embedded itself into her skin, causing severe wounds.
Breathing was labored, and every movement was an agonizing effort. Her days were filled with silent suffering, trapped in the same cruel spot. However, fate intervened.
Concerned neighbors, unable to bear witness to her suffering any longer, reported her abuse to the police and a local animal shelter. Upon arrival, rescuers found Lieber in a deplorable state—emaciated, weak, and barely able to lift her head.
