Aged and Dismissed, Then Served Revenge.

I WAS EJECTED FROM THE RESTAURANT DUE TO MY AGE AND APPEARANCE – DAYS LATER, MY REVENGE WAS A BLAZE.

Let me tell you, it was a scene straight out of a nightmare! So, imagine the scene: my daughter and I decided to have a pleasant lunch after she gave me a surprise visit at my workshop. We entered this upscale restaurant, and I was in quite a cheerful mood. But then, suddenly, the waiter informs *me* that I am “excessively aged” and “dressed improperly.” Incredible, right? My daughter was furious, but before we could even utter a word, they practically evicted us like day-old garbage!

Well, some days later, I considered, “Absolutely not, this cannot stand.” So, I meticulously prepared myself, looking absolutely magnificent, and confidently marched back into that establishment. When the waiter beheld me, he appeared as if he had encountered a specter! Little did I realize, my retribution was ALREADY underway!⬇… Little did I realize, my retribution was ALREADY underway! As the waiter stammered, clearly recognizing me despite my transformed appearance, a figure emerged from behind him. It was the restaurant manager, and he wasn’t just walking, he was practically rushing towards me, his face a mask of contrition.

“Sir! Sir, please, I must apologize profusely!” he exclaimed, extending both hands in a gesture of desperate sincerity. “We have been expecting you, or rather, hoping you might return. We were appalled to learn of the inexcusable behavior of our staff member the other day. There is simply no justification for how you and your daughter were treated.”

He went on to explain that the waiter, a new and regrettably misguided employee, had acted completely against restaurant policy and their values. Apparently, my daughter, in her fury, had not remained silent after our ejection. She had lodged a formal complaint, detailing the discriminatory incident. The manager, horrified by what he read, had immediately launched an internal investigation. The waiter had been reprimanded, and was undergoing further training to ensure such a disgraceful event would never be repeated.

“Please, sir,” the manager pleaded, “allow us to make amends. Your table is ready, the very best one in the house. Lunch is entirely on us, and I would be honored if you would allow me to personally ensure your experience today is nothing short of exceptional. And if your daughter is with you again sometime, please extend my deepest apologies to her as well.”

I must admit, a wave of satisfaction washed over me. This wasn’t the fiery blaze of vengeance I had perhaps initially fantasized about, but it was, in its own way, far more effective. My ‘retribution’ was already underway because the restaurant, upon reflection and complaint, had recognized their egregious error and was actively trying to rectify it.

I looked at the manager, his genuine remorse evident in his eyes. “Very well,” I said, a slight smile playing on my lips. “We will accept your apology. And perhaps,” I added, glancing back at the still-flustered waiter who was now avoiding my gaze, “this will be a valuable lesson for everyone involved.”

I proceeded to enjoy a truly delightful lunch. The service was impeccable, the food exquisite, and the atmosphere, thankfully, far removed from the previous encounter. As I savored my meal, I realized that true retribution isn’t always about explosive displays of anger. Sometimes, the most powerful revenge is simply witnessing the acknowledgment of wrongdoing and the quiet satisfaction of seeing justice, in its own way, prevail. And in this case, justice was served with a side of excellent cuisine and impeccable service. It was a far more satisfying blaze than any I could have imagined setting myself.
