Russian Factory Worker Arrested After Dismembering 8-Year-Old Daughter and Burning Remains in Furnace

A 27-year-old factory worker has been arrested after a deeply disturbing discovery inside a home in the Russian city of Tyumen. The man is accused of murdering his eight-year-old daughter and attempting to conceal her remains in a heating furnace.

The tragedy unfolded on the morning of February 2nd. Police received a call from a distraught local resident who reported that her partner had committed a horrific act against a child during the night. When law enforcement officers arrived at the private residence on Beryozovaya Street, they were met with a gruesome scene.

According to investigators, after killing his young daughter, the man dismembered her body. In a frantic attempt to hide the evidence, he then stuffed her remains into the family’s solid-fuel boiler and lit a fire. The mother was present in the home at the time and reportedly witnessed the aftermath, immediately running to neighbors to raise the alarm before the authorities arrived.

Further investigation revealed a shocking timeline. The murder allegedly occurred between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. local time. Yet, for reasons that remain unclear, the emergency call was not placed until several hours later, around 10:00 a.m.

Neighbors have painted a fragmented picture of the suspect. He was described as a quiet man who worked long hours at a factory and was rarely seen outdoors. There had been no previous noise complaints or public altercations at the address. The man, who had been living with the child’s mother in a civil partnership, is a native of the Kurgan region. Investigators are now probing whether he was under the influence of any substances at the time of the killing or if there was a severe psychological breakdown.

During initial interrogations, the suspect reportedly gave confused and contradictory statements. He refused to fully cooperate with psychological and psychiatric experts called to the scene. A lie detector test was administered, which authorities say pointed toward his guilt. He has been placed in a temporary detention facility, and the Investigative Committee is pursuing criminal charges under the article for the murder of a minor, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment in the Russian Federation. The motive for why a father would extinguish the life of his own child in such a brutal manner is still being determined.
