Rosa and Josefa Blazek were born on January 20, 1878, joined at the pelvis in a physical union that would define every aspect of their existence. From their early years, the sisters displayed an extraordinary connection and a shared passion for music. They eventually returned to the stage, incorporating the child into their act and performing under the title Two Mothers, One Heart. The sisters remained inseparable until 1922, when Josefa fell critically ill. Although medical professionals suggested risky separation surgery in an attempt to save Rosa’s life, Rosa refused the procedure, stating that since they were born together, they would face the end together. True to her word, the sisters passed away just twelve minutes apart, maintaining their lifelong connection until their final moments.
