Father Alleges Fatal Unauthorized Plastic Surgery on 14-Year-Old Daughter

A Mexican father is accusing his ex-wife and her boyfriend, who is a plastic surgeon, of causing the death of his 14-year-old daughter. Carlos Arellano claims that his daughter, Paloma Nicole Arellano Escobedo, died following unauthorized plastic surgery procedures, including breast augmentation, a Brazilian butt lift, and liposuction.

Paloma passed away in a hospital in Durango, Mexico. While the official death certificate lists the cause of death as cerebral edema resulting from a respiratory illness, Carlos Arellano maintains that this is a fabrication designed to cover up the truth. He expressed deep suspicion regarding how quickly the death certificate was issued, stating that he was handed the document almost immediately.

According to the grieving father, the alleged cover-up began shortly before the tragedy. He recounted that he had spoken with the girl’s mother about a week before her death; she claimed they were traveling to the mountains because Paloma had tested positive for COVID-19. Days later, she informed him that their daughter had been hospitalized in critical condition.

The father’s suspicions were confirmed during the funeral. After relatives pointed out that Paloma’s chest appeared noticeably larger than it had been previously, he examined his daughter’s body himself. He discovered clear evidence of recent breast augmentation, including implants and surgical scars. Despite his findings, the mother denied any knowledge of the procedures and attempted to prevent him from being alone with the body to say his final goodbyes.

Carlos Arellano believes the surgery was intended as a gift from his ex-wife to their daughter for her upcoming 15th birthday and that the operation was performed by the mother’s partner, a plastic surgeon. Following the discovery, the father filed a formal complaint with the police and is now demanding a full investigation. He is steadfast in his pursuit of justice, calling for everyone involved in what he considers to be a fatal medical malpractice case to be held accountable. Authorities in Mexico have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s passing.
