Three Sisters Die in Tragic Leap Linked to Online Game Obsession

Three sisters tragically lost their lives earlier this week after jumping from the ninth floor of an apartment building in Ghaziabad, located on the outskirts of New Delhi, India. The victims were identified as 16-year-old Nishika, 14-year-old Prachi, and 12-year-old Pakhi, the daughters of Chetan Kumar.

Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, following reports that the three girls had fallen from a balcony. Upon arrival, police confirmed that all three had died upon impact on the ground floor.

Investigation into the incident suggests the girls were struggling with an intense psychological dependency on an online game. According to local reports, the sisters had become deeply involved in a Korean-based game consisting of a series of specific tasks. Their father, who works as a forex trader, stated that the girls had been playing the game for nearly three years and frequently expressed a desire to move to Korea. Their obsession with their mobile devices reportedly intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which the sisters withdrew from school and remained at home for two years.

In the days leading up to the tragedy, the girls had been restricted from accessing their mobile phones. Law enforcement officials believe this sudden loss of access may have significantly impacted their mental state.

Before the incident occurred, the sisters left behind an eight-page note documented in a personal diary. The chilling message recovered by authorities began with the instruction to read everything written within, followed by a tearful apology to their father that stated, Sorry papa, I am really sorry.

The father expressed profound sorrow and regret, stating that he had been unaware of the nature of the game his children were playing. He emphasized that he never would have permitted them to participate had he known the dangers. The family, which includes Chetan Kumar, his two wives, and their five children altogether, is now devastated by the loss of the three sisters. While investigations continue, the tragedy highlights the severe impact that intense online gaming habits can have on young lives when left unchecked or misunderstood by guardians.
