Mom Uncovers Suspicious Prescription Bottle in Nursery, Confronts Daughter

A MOTHER FOUND A STRANGE PRESCRIPTION BOTTLE IN HER CHILD’S NURSERY MASKED BY AIR FRESHENER.
I was putting the baby down, the air thick with that sickeningly sweet vanilla spray she uses. My hand brushed something hard under the changing table liner.

“What is this, Sarah?” I asked, holding it out, the cheap air freshener smell suddenly making my eyes water. She froze by the crib. “Where did you get this? Who is ‘Mark Jenkins’?”
She stammered, her face draining white, the cloying smell of air freshener somehow intensifying. The only sound was the baby’s soft breathing and the frantic pounding in my ears. She wouldn’t meet my eyes. “It’s… it’s nothing, Mom. Just a mistake.”
The bottle had five pills left, enough to make me realize this wasn’t a mistake at all.
