37-year-old Meirivone Rocha Moraes, originally from Brazil, captured global headlines with her marriage. What made her wedding an international sensation? Her choice of spouse—she married a life-sized ragdoll named Marcelo.
Now, the couple reportedly has three children: a 1-year-old son named Marcelinho and newborn twin daughters named Marcela and Emilia.
According to Meirivone, her family life is as complex as any other mother and wife’s would be. She regularly updates people on her life via TikTok, where she discusses how she and Marcelo divide parenting responsibilities equally. Marcelo takes on the role of managing the family’s finances.
She also shares the challenges of raising children, saying, “It’s not easy but at the same time, I get emotional every moment, every second. In everyday life, Marcelo and I have a lot of tasks with the new babies, as well as looking after our first child. And even when I’m tired, he helps me bathe, eat and sleep.”
Despite Marcelo’s stress, Meirivone says everything they have is worth it. “Despite his concerns, he always dreamed of having a family and children, so this is all he ever wished for,” Meirivone shared.
The couple’s current goal is to achieve homeownership. “My dream now is to own my own house,” she emphasized. “Since our wedding in 2018, I’ve been scouring the internet every day. I won’t give up,” the dedicated mother of three affirmed.
While their relationship is unconventional, it hasn’t been without challenges. In June 2023, Meirivone disclosed that Marcelo had been unfaithful to her, not for the first time. She punished him by making him sleep on the couch and taking away his genitalia.
In February 2023, their child Marcelinho was kidnapped, and a $200 ransom was demanded. Fortunately, Marcelinho was safely reunited with his family, and he also participated in their gender reveal event for their children.
