Palace insider reveals that Kate Middleton’s health is being shrouded in “Radio Silence”

It may be par for the course for the Royal Family to keep as much of their private affairs as possible behind a curtain, but the tactic may be coming back to bite them where Kate Middleton’s health is concerned.

Unless you’ve been on a remote island with no access to the outside world for the duration of 2024 so far, you’ll be aware that the Princess of Wales underwent “planned abdominal surgery” in January.

Last week, after Prince William was forced to withdraw from a planned appearance at a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece, it was claimed in several quarters that perhaps he had done so as he needed to be with his wife.

The Palace then reiterated their stance that Kate’s recovery was continuing as planned and that the Princess of Wales “continues to be doing well”.Even so, there has been concern from royal fans the world over, helped in no small part by the fact that Kate had not been seen in public since Christmas. That changed on Monday when TMZ published a grainy image purporting to show Kate in a car being driven by her mother, Carol Middleton.

Cue renewed interest in Kate’s health, prompting the bandying of all manner of conspiracy theories online. Yesterday a spokesperson for Prince William issued a statement to People Magazine detailing that the Prince of Wales was focused on his work, not on the swirling storms of conjecture to be found on the internet.

One thing’s for sure, and that’s that the lack of updates offered by the Palace has done very little to ease the worries of all those convinced that the Princess’s health is perhaps worse than is being let on.According to People Magazine, this week one palace insider described the dearth of information as complete “radio silence” regarding Kate’s condition.

Of course, it’s more than reasonable to argue that Kate Middleton has a right to privacy as she recovers from what surely must have been a serious procedure. Her status as one of the senior members of the Royal Family means people will always be curious as to what is happening, but if she wants to get better away from the flashing of cameras and intrusive questions of the media, she’s entitled to that.

On the other hand, the Palace could arguably have done a better job in projecting the sort of transparency that might have put paid to wild rumor and speculation.

On February 29, a spokesperson said: “We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant.”
